Job Description

Inspired Flight Technologies is looking to expand its Operations team with the addition of a UAV Payload Specialist. In this role, you will develop payload integrations on Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). You will work with a team of technicians and engineers to ensure systems and mechanical equipment are integrated with the highest level of quality to support the customer’s mission objectives

This role will report directly to the Vice President of Operations within the Operations department. This is a prime opportunity for a highly motivated and creative professional who thrives in a startup environment and is looking for career development and advancement.

Typical responsibilities:

• Perform hands-on payload integration activities, including mechanical fitment, electrical wiring, programming, firmware, software, and troubleshooting
• Install hardware in a highly detailed and quality manner which includes removal, repair and installation of payloads
• Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions for Inspired Flight payloads
• Collaborating with the engineering team to create complete system integration
• Improve the user experience with payload integrations
• Work with customers on custom payload integrations to ensure the success of their missions
• Testing payload solutions to improve performance, documentation, and troubleshooting

You’ll excel in this role if you have:

• Ability to read/understanding technical drawings, manuals, and reports
• Experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
• Self-starter with excellent communication skills
• Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
• UAV or payload experience
• Part 107 Certification

Education/Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in related engineering field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Preferred at least 1 year of experience in the following industries: aviation, aerospace, defense sector
