Inspired Flight Technologies is looking to expand its Finance team with the addition of a Financial Analyst. In this role, you will provide support for all financial aspects including reporting results, budgeting/forecasting, financial modeling, incentive compensation, and analytical and strategic support. This role will also provide support for corporate FP&A deliverables and integrate seamlessly with IFT's internal reporting and planning processes, including monthly reporting, quarterly forecast updates, annual budget, and long-range planning.

Typical responsibilities:
Financial Analysis:
Prepare budgeting, forecasting, latest estimates, multi-year forecasting, financial reviews for actuals to budget and forecast, ad hoc analysis, incentive compensation, tactical planning support, and management reporting.
Prepare monthly variance analysis of actuals to forecast and budget, explain and investigate any major discrepancies, and understand key business drivers.
Prepare analysis to determine present and future financial performance to understand opportunities and risks to the forecast
Budgeting and Operational Forecasting:
Contribute to the budgeting process, focusing on production costs, procurement, and distribution.
Regularly update forecasts to reflect changes and operational adjustments to proactive communication to leadership.
Responsible for headcount tracking and reconciliation to support planning cycles and Human Resources
Performance Reporting:
Ensure the generation of detailed reports on production performance, cost of goods sold, and operational efficiency.
Provide insights into remaining forecasted spend based on current actuals.
Strategic Business Partnering:
Collaborate teams and cross functional stakeholders including production, supply chain, and sales departments to align financial strategies with business operations. Offer financial solutions that enhance production efficiencies and profitability.
Perform ad hoc analysis to support strategy discussions and decisions, process improvement initiatives, and other special projects as needed
Cost Management:
Lead initiatives to optimize manufacturing costs and improve profit margins.
Assess financial impacts of operational decisions and recommend cost-saving measures.
Identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities. Implement cost control measures and monitor their effectiveness.
Investment and CapEx Analysis: Evaluate and propose financial justification for capital expenditures and investments in new manufacturing technologies, facilities, or business ventures as needed.
Reporting:
Manage accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management.
Highlight significant variances, trends, and areas of concern.
Work closely with Accounting on the month-end and quarter-end close processes, including vendor confirmations, accruals, preliminary close analysis, reconciliations, etc.
Update budget and forecast presentations
Business Partnering: Act as a finance business partner to various departments, providing financial expertise and support in decision-making processes.
Process Improvement: Develops standards for financial planning, including researching & employing best-in-class financial analysis techniques
Compensation Management: Manage incentive compensation accrual review procedures and direct quarterly payout approval process
You’ll excel in this role if you have:
Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis experience required, with previous experience working with Manufacturing organizations
Experience with financial systems (Quickbooks, E2, Netsuite) is preferred
Advanced knowledge of Excel & PowerPoint and Google Suite
Experience in the following industries: aviation, aerospace, defense sector
Willingness to work in a fast-paced and changing environment, meeting deadlines in an accurate and timely manner
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in FP&A, ideally in manufacturing or food production.
