IGC 1.6 Update
Updated: Oct 12
IGC 1.6 introduces a series of improvements focused on payload control, camera workflows, geotagging, connectivity, and overall usability across the Inspired Flight Ground Control experience.
This release expands functionality for supported Sony LR1 and Gremsy Vio payloads, improves MAVLink connectivity through the GS-ONE, and gives operators more control over joystick assignments and payload settings.

Improved Camera Controls
IGC 1.6 introduces an updated camera settings interface designed to make adjustments faster and easier in the field.
Camera setting sliders now feature integrated plus and minus buttons along with a larger slider handle for more precise adjustments. Supported cameras also gain a dedicated zoom slider.
For Sony LR1 users, the previously labeled “EXP” control has been renamed to “EV” to more accurately reflect exposure compensation.
New Gimbal MAP and HOME Controls
New MAP and HOME buttons have been added for supported Sony LR1 and Gremsy Vio configurations.
The MAP button quickly positions the gimbal for mapping workflows, while the HOME button returns the payload to its home orientation.
Gremsy Vio users will need to update to the latest supported Vio firmware to access this functionality.

Payload Controls Panel Improvements
The Payload Controls Panel has been updated to provide a cleaner and more streamlined interface for operating supported cameras and gimbals.
These improvements make frequently used payload settings easier to access during both mapping and inspection workflows.
Tap to Focus and Tap to Move
IGC 1.6 introduces new touchscreen payload controls.
On the Sony LR1, operators can now tap directly on the video feed to select a focus point.
For both the LR1 and Gremsy Vio, operators can tap within the video feed to reposition the gimbal toward a selected area, making inspection and targeted imaging workflows more intuitive.
This functionality requires the latest VIO Firmware V3 and Sony LR1 Mavcam 1.1.10 firmware.

Sony LR1 Focus Modes
A new focus mode button has been added for Sony LR1 configurations, giving operators quicker access to camera focus settings directly within IGC.
Faster LR1 Geotagging
The geotagging workflow for Sony LR1 imagery has received several major improvements.
Geotagging is now approximately 10 times faster, and operators can process images from multiple flights at once. The geotagging page has also been simplified to make the workflow easier to navigate.
These improvements require Sony LR1 Mavcam 1.1.10 firmware. or newer.
MAVLink Forwarding on GS-ONE
IGC 1.6 adds MAVLink forwarding support through the GS-ONE.
MAVLink data can now be shared over:
Ethernet
Wi-Fi
The GS-ONE hotspot
This provides additional options for connecting the aircraft to third-party software such as UgCS and other MAVLink-compatible applications.
More Assignable Joystick Controls
IGC 1.6 expands the number of functions that can be assigned to GS-ONE joystick buttons.
New and updated assignable controls include:
Toggle Gimbal Follow/Lock Mode
Gimbal Yaw Lock
Camera setting slider controls
Guided Mode
Gimbal Yaw Lock is also no longer restricted to administrator mode, and Guided Mode can now be assigned while operating in user mode.
Improved Radio Status Information
The GS-ONE radio status indicator now displays additional signal information, giving operators more visibility into connection performance during flight.
Known Issues
The following issues are currently known in IGC 1.6.
GS-ONE and Gremsy Vio Photo Count On GS-ONE and Gremsy Vio configurations, the displayed photo trigger count and photo indicator dots may not accurately represent the number of images captured.
During survey missions, the displayed photo count may differ from the actual number of captured photos. This issue affects the on-screen indicator only. Logs are currently being collected as the Inspired Flight team continues its investigation.
Gremsy Vio V2 Manual Controls
The Gremsy Vio V2 running existing firmware may not reliably support manual button inputs, gimbal wheel controls, or inspection workflows.
Automated survey missions remain functional as long as the camera is pointed downward before beginning the survey.
Users will need to update the Gremsy Vio to firmware V3 to restore full functionality.
Sony LR1 HOME Button Behavior
If the Sony LR1 is yawed beyond 180 degrees and the HOME button is selected, the camera may continuously move between yaw positions rather than returning to its home orientation.
This behavior is related to the Gremsy Pixy LR gimbal and is being investigated.
Payload Slider Display After Camera Changes
An intermittent issue may occur when switching between an LR1 running firmware v1.1.10 and a Vio running firmware v3.
In some cases, slider controls from the previously connected camera may remain visible after parameters have been applied.
Rebooting the aircraft resolves the issue.
Updating to IGC 1.6
Operators are encouraged to update IGC and verify that connected payloads are running the required firmware versions before using the new functionality.
