We kicked off 2025 with the launch of IFT Quarterly Magazine, a new publication dedicated to sharing the people, technology, and missions behind Inspired Flight. This first issue sets the tone for what IFT Quarterly is all about — authentic stories, field-proven results, and a look inside the craft of American drone manufacturing.
Aerial Survey of the Historic San Miguel Mission
Our feature story documents a mission at California’s Mission San Miguel Arcángel using the IF800 Tomcat paired with the Sony ILX-LR1. The survey produced 490 ultra-high-resolution images to generate a precise orthomosaic map for cultural preservation. The project demonstrates how non-invasive drone mapping provides conservationists and historians with detailed spatial data while preserving fragile structures.
Spotlight: Rick Stollmeyer, CEO of Inspired Flight
In an exclusive interview, Rick shares insights from his journey — from leading MINDBODY to steering Inspired Flight toward sustainable American manufacturing. He discusses leadership, growth, and the responsibility of building secure, NDAA-compliant technology that supports critical industries.
Inside Inspired Flight: American Craftsmanship
A behind-the-scenes look at how each Inspired Flight system is built in San Luis Obispo, California. The article highlights the precision, collaboration, and pride that define IFT’s manufacturing process. It also features an employee spotlight on Andrew Stone, Director of Operations, who shares what re-shoring American manufacturing means to him and the team.
Support and Training Q&A
The debut issue also includes the first edition of the IFT Q&A series, covering training programs, payload swapping, Inspired Care, and what NDAA compliance means for professional operators.
