Inspired Flight Featured in DRONELIFE Open Platform Interview
A new exclusive interview from DRONELIFE looks at how Inspired Flight's open aircraft platform gives operators more choices as the U.S. commercial drone market adjusts to new restrictions on foreign-made technology. The conversation took place on the show floor at Commercial UAV Expo in Las Vegas.
Rather than tying an aircraft to a single proprietary sensor ecosystem, IFT built its platform to accommodate a growing range of payloads. More than 20 are supported today through a standardized dovetail interface developed within the Pixhawk/ArduPilot ecosystem, which lets compatible payloads from our partners work plug-and-play.
That flexibility matters more as the market changes. The FCC has added foreign-produced UAS and critical components to its Covered List, and operators are weighing how to invest in a platform now without narrowing the missions they can fly later. An open drone platform keeps that door open.
